Rev Richard ChiuRev Richard grew up in Sydney with his Chinese family, after immigrating to Australia from South Korea. He worked in IT before completing his Master of Divinity at Sydney Missionary and Bible College. Richard has joined us at MCBC in 2020, after serving as a pastor in Sydney for 6.5 years. He loves to see God's word being read, understood and lived, and he hopes to encourage as many as possible to consider the truths of Jesus, especially those in our CrossGen service. Rev Ricky LawRicky joined MCBC as a Youth Pastor in 2006 and became our Lead Pastor for the Chinese ministry in 2009. He serves in many different ministries such as church leadership, pastoral care, cell group ministries, preaching, care for the community and mission mobilisation. He was ordained by the Baptist Union of Victoria in 2013. Ricky has a Masters Degree in Divinity from Bible College of Victoria and is passionate in areas of Christian spirituality, biblical counselling and experiential group work. Pastor Eva WongEva has been serving as the Cantonese Pastor of MCBC since 2024, following the completion of her Master of Divinity at Melbourne School of Theology. She is passionate about preaching God’s Word, nurturing discipleship, and sharing the gospel. Eva was previously a hospital nurse, and that experience continues to inform her ministry, shaping a heart of compassion and a desire to walk alongside with others through life’s seasons. Her heart is to see the church experience God’s grace and grow as a loving, Christ-centred community. Pastor Mei ChungPastor Mei was called in 1988, to receive full-time theological training. She completed her Bachelor of Theology, Master of Missions and Evangelism, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Philosophy (focusing on the spirituality and identity of Chinese young people in Christian churches). She has served as a pastor, missionary, seminary lecturer and academic affairs coordinator. Currently, she serves as an adjunct lecturer at Brisbane School of Theology (BST) for the Chinese course, and founder of the Australian Centre for Cross-Cultural Chinese Studies (ACCRC). She started to serve at MCBC in mid-June this year (2025), as full-time lead pastor of the Mandarin congregation. She has the burden of building up the congregation and helping them care for one another in God's Word (the Bible), to live a testimony of life in this age, and to carry on the baton of the Great Commission together. Her husband, Rev. Dr. Felix Chung, who is currently an adjunct lecturer at Brisbane Theological College and the head of the Australian Centre for Cross-Cultural Chinese Studies, fully supports her ministry in the church and participates in the ministry of the Mandarin congregation.
